MY PWA ESSAY

 I'm going to write about how slaves resisted slavery. Can you imagine slaves back then trying to resist slavery and got caught they got beaten up or sold.In summary this book is about an African American woman named Dana.Dana is married to a white man named Kevin.Dana can transport back in time were slavery was very oppressive.Dana helps a white kid named Rufus when he is problems.Did you know that people have resisted slavery in order to have equal rights?
      My topic is that how slaves resist slavery.One example i read from the book is were Dana is scaping to go meet her husband Kevin she gets caught by Weylin and Weylin kick Dana on the face.This  means it doesn't matter what race u are or if your a lady they dint care they still beat you.One connection i have is when my step dad use to beat up my mom when she tried to escape because of the pain she was passing through.
         Another way slaves resisted slavery is to kill yourself. one example i read from the book is when Alice killed herself because she was tired of getting beat up and raped by Rufus and she wanted a better life for her sons.one connection i of have is that i was watching a  show called la Rosa DE Guadalupe and it was about this girl thast6 got rapped by her step father and she hung herself .
         From what i saw in social studies we saw a video of Nat turner killed the white masters because he wanted all slaves to get freedom.This means that slaves even tried to kill all white masters and children so they would have freedom.Connection is when I read an article about5 Margret Wallace and it said that she killed her husband because she was getting oppressed by her husband forcing her to make a sex performance so she shoot him.
      In conclusion this topic I wrote about meant allot to me because people should understand that everyone needs equal rights.In the other hand slaves did good because they wanted to have a little bit of freedom.This is important because this means slaves always got oppressive that they wanted t resist.Well people should transform the world by people treating each other the same.Now you see my point why slaves resisted slavery to be free.

MY NAME IS ZULEMA AND I AM AN 8TH GRADER AT URBAN PROMISE ACADEMY,CA. MY SCHOOL IS A FUN SCHOOL BECAUSE WE HAVE PROGRAMS THAT STUDENTS LIKE TO DO.PROGRAMS THAT WE HAVE ARE CHEER LEADERS,SOCCER,BASKETBALL,DRAMA,MARTIAL ARTS.THE TEACHERS ARE FUN THEY HELP YOU WHEN YOUR PROBLEMS.URBAN PROMISE ACADEMY NEEDS FOUNDING FOR FIELD TRIPS AND SUPPLIES FOR SCHOOLS.MY EDUCATION IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME BECAUSE WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO HAVE A BETTER FUTURE THAN MY PARENTS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO SCHOOL.PLEASE SUPPORT MY EDUCATION AND OTHER STUDENTS EDUCATION SO WE CAN BE SOMETHING FOR THE FUTURE.











 

MY COLLEGE TRIP REFLECTION

                             THE FIRST DAY OF THE COLLEGE FOR ALL TRIP WAS FUN BECAUSE WE WENT TO UC SANTA BARBARA  AND WE SAW THE BEACH AND WE ATE PIZZA AND SAW THE CENTRO OF CHICANOS/LATINOS AND IT WAS JUST FUN LEARNING ABOUT LATINOS HISTORY AND ABOUT SANTA BARBARA STUDENTS HAVE TO RIDE A BIKE. ONE MORE THING WAS FUN WHEN WE WERE IN THE HOTEL WITH MY FRIENDS AND THEY COULD COME OVER AND HAVE FUN. THE SECOND DAY IT WAS FUN WE WENT TO CAL POLY AND I SAW THAT THEY HAVE A BIG FIELD SO THEY CAN PLAY SPORTS AND THEY COOL BUFFETS AND THE BOLLING ALI AFTER THAT WE WENT TO HOTELS AND WENT TO BOARDWALK WHICH WAS FUN HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS AND PLAYING YOUR FAVORITE GAMES WITH YOUR FRIENDS. THE THIRD DAY WE WENT TO SANTA CRUZ THE COLLEGE WAS FUN THEY HAD LOTS OF NATURE AND PLANTS AND THEY HAD LOTS OF STAIRS AND WAT I LIKE IS THAT THEY HAVE LOTS OF HISTORY IN THEIR SCHOOL. THE COLLEGE I WOULD WANT TO GO TO IS SANTA CRUZ BECAUSE I REALLY LIKED IT AND HOW THEY CAN CONCENTRATE WITH THE LIBRARY AND LIKE THE SINGING PLACE WITCH I REALLY LIKED WELL THAT'S WHAT I GOT TO SAY ABOUT THIS FIELD TRIP.

I AM THE PERSON WHO CARES ABOUT HER FRIENDS

I am the person who cares about her friends. 

I hear people talking about my friends I don't really hear them because I know that rumors will never end.

I wonder if my life my life be perfect if they weren't next tome.

I am the person who cares about her friends. 

I feel sad when they have problems and when I see them cry. I cry when I don't see them next to me and when I don't feel the strength they gave to me.

I'm worry when they are absent and when I see a lonely seat that has never been taken. I feel like crying when I see them drop some tears on the floor.

I am the person who cares about her friends.

I try to make my friends happy when I see them cry. I dream that my friends will be next to me but sometimes you have to let them go although they make you cry. I hope I can have them in my heart for the rest my life and until I die I am the person who cares about her friends.

MY LIBERATION JOURNAL

                                      My groups topic is struggles in school is like when people get bullied and get low grades. One example is that is that one of my cousin he has good grades right now he goes to college and he works as during the weekends as a deejay he is a really busy guy but he likes being busy.I think it liberate him because he is not having struggles by accomplishing his dream. He always ignored bulling so he would get good grades he only paid attention to the people that really wanted to be his friends. I think yes because it helps them get better grades and learning without nothing trying to stop them. Some experiences i have is that when my mom got diabetes i got sad and start getting low grades. I'm being oppressed by  having low grades and not being able to liberate myself. i tried to distracted my self by not trying to think about it.What makes me smile is my mom my cousins and when i see my self happy and when everyone is equal.

MY OPPRESSION JOURNAL

                        My groups area and focus is struggles in school. Alcholism harms the socs because in the movie is said they told their girlfriend to drink because she is their girlfriend. They have internalize that their rich and they like to get drunk and that people do bad things when they are drunk because they don't know what they are doing. In the book the socs go to look for problems when their drunk.They restrict peoples life by putting them in danger when people people get drunk they are in danger to get a car crash they look for problems. I think that greasers and socs are like gang members because gang members don't get along or they just start fighting.Sometimes some gang members internalize the oppressors by telling them that their weak because they don't join the gang. They get barriers because gang members oppress them and bother them until they be like the oppressors. Some even want to kill them selves for being oppressed. Some try to ignore or try to do things worst. The socs internalize greaser by telling them that they are white trash. Some connections I have is that when people get oppressed like this they have struggles in school and might even drop out.I have cousin that people keep bothering him and i don't like that they keep telling him that he is a cry baby if i was him i would not get that internalize in my head because its just a lie people just like bothering them but its not fair.  

MY REFLECTION ON EXPO

My reflection on expo I think it was fun and cool because when we were talking in our discussion on struggles in school everyone was shy but my mom stepped up and talk to give us ideas. It was fun because i was meeting my groups family. Expo is the thing that our parents cant forget because of the good work we have made. My mom is proud of me because she knows that I'm a shy girl but she still knows that i worked hard to make her proud. Well that's all i had to say about expo it was great.
