MY LIBERATION JOURNAL

My groups topic is struggles in school is like when people get bullied and get low grades. One example is that is that one of my cousin he has good grades right now he goes to college and he works as during the weekends as a deejay he is a really busy guy but he likes being busy.I think it liberate him because he is not having struggles by accomplishing his dream. He always ignored bulling so he would get good grades he only paid attention to the people that really wanted to be his friends. I think yes because it helps them get better grades and learning without nothing trying to stop them. Some experiences i have is that when my mom got diabetes i got sad and start getting low grades. I'm being oppressed by  having low grades and not being able to liberate myself. i tried to distracted my self by not trying to think about it.What makes me smile is my mom my cousins and when i see my self happy and when everyone is equal.

MY OPPRESSION JOURNAL

My groups area and focus is struggles in school. Alcholism harms the socs because in the movie is said they told their girlfriend to drink because she is their girlfriend. They have internalize that their rich and they like to get drunk and that people do bad things when they are drunk because they don't know what they are doing. In the book the socs go to look for problems when their drunk. They restrict peoples life by putting them in danger when people people get drunk they are in danger to get a car crash they look for problems. I think that greasers and socs are like gang members because gang members don't get along or they just start fighting.Sometimes some gang members internalize the oppressors by telling them that their weak because they don't join the gang. They get barriers because gang members oppress them and bother them until they be like the oppressors. Some even want to kill them selves for being oppressed. Some try to ignore or try to do things worst. The socs internalize greaser by telling them that they are white trash. Some connections I have is that when people get oppressed like this they have struggles in school and might even drop out.I have cousin that people keep bothering him and i don't like that they keep telling him that he is a cry baby if i was him i would not get that internalize in my head because its just a lie people just like bothering them but its not fair.

MY REFLECTION ON EXPO

My reflection on expo I think it was fun and cool because when we were talking in our discussion on struggles in school everyone was shy but my mom stepped up and talk to give us ideas. It was fun because i was meeting my groups family. Expo is the thing that our parents cant forget because of the good work we have made. My mom is proud of me because she knows that I'm a shy girl but she still knows that i worked hard to make her proud. Well that's all i had to say about expo it was great.

MY COLLEGE FOR ALL ESSAY

MY COLLEGE ESSAY

                                                                  By: Zulema Santos

I come from a Latin American family. I describe my family as lovely because I really get along with them.In my family there’s 3boys, 3girls,3nephews, and 1 niece, my mom, and dad i really funny & loving.I describe my community as dangerous and trashy because I always watch the news & they say that they had kidnapped a girl or a woman and I see trash as I walk to school. As you can see I think its trashy because when I walk in the streets I see broken bottles. I see gang members & that actually makes me want to go to college so I can get a better life than other people that don’t want to go. When I see violence and gang members not going to school I feel upset that they don’t want to do something important in their life.
Some opportunities I have in my school is getting prepared & getting good grades to go to college. My community gives me some opportunities like if I don’t get to go to college I can work like in stores or other shops. Some issues I have with my family is that they don’t have good jobs. Two of my sisters work in cleaning houses and they don’t even get paid allot. One of my sisters and her husband work in dry cleaners. My dad works in cleaning cars and my mom babysits kids. That’s difficult because they earn a little bit of money and they have to pay allot of bills.
Going to college will help my family and I because when I graduate from college I will get a job & I will help them with what they  need. This is affecting me by persuading me to go to college. I chose this because I see that my family are in need & I really would like to help them with jobs. When I grow up I would like to be doctor. The kind of doctor I would want to be is pediatrician. The thing i would want to change is that I would want my family to have better jobs because they have a allot of things that they want for their daughter’s or son’s and they cant because they work hard just to get money to pay bills and to give their son’s what to eat. I would like to be a doctor because when I go to a restaurant I have to choose my moms plate because she has diabetes. This helps me because it makes me want to be healthy so i wont have to pass the sickness & so I can accomplish my dream this is a challenge because sometimes i finish my homework late because i have to help my mom .
What does college mean to me? College means when I have a career & I get to help my mom with diabetes & when I accomplish my dream for the future. Some experiences I want from college are singing, sports, and fashion courses. Thanks for reading my college essay.

MY FREEDOM POEM

As an immigrant documented, people wish they could cross the border to start a new life.
We wish we wasn't treated like animals.
We wish everyday of our life would be all happinessn insted of sadness.
We wish we can brake this strong chain that are holding us from freedom.
We wish we could be free and spread ourv wings like a free bid flying around.
But most of us need equality to be free from all of those chains stopping us.
We wished we can be free and be with the people that love us and make us laugh.
